FESTIVAL DAY INFORMATION
THE NEW JERSEY FOLK FESTIVAL IS FREE AND OPEN TO THE PUBLIC!
You don’t need a ticket. Just show up! Donations are always appreciated and help keep the festival open to everyone. Check out our donation options here.
ARRIVING AT THE FESTIVAL AND PARKING:
COME EARLY! As a part of the larger Rutgers Day celebrations across the New Brunswick campus, the the festival is a part of a very vibrant and busy campus experience! Parking can be hard to find.*
See the Rutgers Day website for parking and directions around campus. The Douglass Parking Deck is the closest parking location to the festival. You can also park at other Rutgers lots and take the circulating Rutgers Day bus to reach the festival. Alight from the bus at the Douglass Student Center. Limited public parking is available at Hickman Lot 79 (near Mason Gross School of the Arts). Limited Handicap parking is available in a restricted lot near the Rutgers Inn and Conference Center. We recommend that you contact us ahead of time to reserve a handicap space. Please email njfolkfest@gmail.com if you would like to request a handicap parkingpass in this lot. You will need to arrive in a car with a handicap plate to be allowed to park.
*PLEASE NOTE: If you have previously parked in the old Sears lot on Route 1, this space is NO LONGER ACCESSIBLE. It is closed off to the public and is now being redeveloped. You cannot park there. Please find an alternative spot.
Festival Artists, Presenters, Vendors, and Volunteers receive parking passes to park in restricted lots at the Woodlawn Mansion (Eagleton Lot) and Hickman (Lot 79A). If you are an Artist, Vendor, or Volunteer, you will receive parking instructions and passes the Monday prior to the festival.
