Welcome, September. It's one of our favorite months: Kids are back in school, fall arrives, the evenings are getting longer, and the days are getting cooler. Corn mazes and apple orchards are ready for families to visit, and — in much of the country — leaves are changing to gold and red. And did we mention — it's time for pumpkin spice everything?

Grandparents Day
Grandparents are special. If your children's grandparents are local, spend time showing them just how important they truly are to your family.
If they aren't local, plan ahead and send a handmade card and a hug: Simply tape together a few pieces of newspaper or use the white side of wrapping paper and outline your child with their arms outstretched. Let your kids color themselves in. Fold it up, put it in an envelope, and send that hug to grandma! See more ideas on how to make Grandparents Day grand. Sept. 8

Hispanic Heritage Month
One of our former publishers shared this delicious Arroz con Leche recipe for Hispanic Heritage Month that she learned from her mother and grandmothers while growing up in Tepic, Nayarit. Make it this month as one way to celebrate the histories, cultures, and contributions of those whose ancestors came from Spain, Mexico, the Caribbean, and Central and South America. Sept. 15-Oct. 15

CertifiKID acquired Macaroni KID during the pandemic, creating one of the largest parent-focused digital media and advertising companies in the country.
Jamie famously says she had no business experience when she started CertifiKID — but that doesn't mean she's not a much-respected American businesswoman now! Get your copy of ParentPreneurs now. Sept. 22
